Orders & Account
How do I place an order?
Browse the catalog, select your size and quantity, add to cart, and complete checkout. SunBorn accepts all major credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay. You'll receive an order confirmation email within minutes of checkout.
Do I need an account to order?
No. Guest checkout is fully supported — just enter your shipping and payment info, no account required.
That said, creating a free account makes your life easier: you can track multiple orders in one place, save shipping addresses, and access exclusive perks like early drop notifications for the Collective.
Can I modify or cancel my order after placing it?
SunBorn pieces are engineered to order — production begins almost immediately after checkout. Once your order is confirmed, shipping addresses and sizing cannot be modified, and orders cannot be cancelled.
Within 30 minutes of checkout: Email info@sunbornfc.com immediately with your order number. SunBorn will attempt to intercept the order before production begins, but interception is not guaranteed.
Please double-check all your details — especially shipping address, size, and any Custom Edition personalization — before completing checkout.
How do I track my order?
You'll receive a tracking email with your unique tracking number(s) within 48 hours of your order shipping. Click the tracking link in that email anytime to see live transit updates.
Heads up: If your tracking link initially shows "Not Found" or "Pre-Transit," that's normal — the carrier's scanning system can take 24–72 hours to sync after a package is handed over. The package is in transit, the system is just catching up.
What payment methods do you accept?
SunBorn accepts:
- All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
- Shop Pay
- PayPal
All transactions are processed securely through Shopify's encrypted payment infrastructure. SunBorn never stores your full card details.
Shipping & Dispatch
How long until my order ships?
SunBorn operates on a print-on-demand model — every piece is engineered specifically upon order. Production typically takes 2–5 business days, then transit time begins.
Custom Edition pieces (personalized with names, numbers, etc.) may take slightly longer due to the personalization step. Specific timelines are noted on individual product pages.
What are your shipping rates?
Free shipping on every order over $80 USD. Applies to all eligible destinations.
For orders under $80, shipping is calculated at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected shipping method. All applicable rates display before you confirm payment — no surprises.
Note: Free shipping covers the cost of standard shipping only. Customs duties, import taxes, and VAT charged by the destination country remain the responsibility of the receiver for international orders.
Do you ship internationally? Which countries?
Yes — SunBorn ships globally. SunBorn's specialized manufacturing partners have facilities across multiple regions, allowing the brand to deliver internationally with reasonable transit times.
SunBorn Purchase Assurance™ coverage is currently available for shipping addresses in these 14 countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Portugal, Ireland.
Orders to other countries can still be placed, but Purchase Assurance™ won't be available at checkout for those destinations.
How long does shipping take?
Transit times begin after production is complete:
- North America (US / Canada): 5–9 business days
- Europe (EU & UK): 6–15 business days
- International (Other): 9–20 business days
These are estimates from carrier networks, not guarantees. SunBorn isn't liable for delays from extreme weather, supply chain disruptions, or carrier strikes — but these are rare.
Will I be charged customs or duties?
For international orders, the receiver is the importer of record and is solely responsible for all local customs fees, duties, VAT, and import taxes levied by the destination country.
SunBorn cannot estimate, prepay, or override government-mandated import procedures. SunBorn also cannot legally under-declare the order value on the shipping label — that constitutes fraud under international shipping law.
Important: Packages abandoned at customs due to unpaid duties are not eligible for a refund.
Why did my order ship from multiple locations?
SunBorn uses specialized manufacturing facilities globally — different specialists for sublimated all-over print jerseys, heavyweight hoodies, embroidered accessories, and drinkware. This is how SunBorn keeps quality consistently high across very different product types.
If your order contains multiple product types, items may ship in separate packages from different facilities. Each package gets its own tracking number, sent to you in separate emails.
If one item arrives before the rest, your remaining items are still in transit — not lost. Check your email for additional tracking links, including spam folders if needed.
My tracking says delivered but I didn't receive it. What do I do?
First, check carefully:
- Around your front door, porch, and any nearby alternate entry points
- With neighbors or building management — packages sometimes get misdelivered
- Your mail/parcel locker if you have one
- Tracking sometimes marks delivered up to 24 hours before the actual drop-off
If you added Purchase Assurance™ at checkout: File a claim at resolve.seel.com within 7 days of the delivery date. Seel handles porch-pirate scenarios.
If you did not add Purchase Assurance™: Once carrier tracking shows DELIVERED, SunBorn's fulfillment obligation is complete and SunBorn cannot issue refunds or free replacements. Your options are to file a claim directly with the carrier (USPS, FedEx, DHL) using your tracking ID.

What is SunBorn Purchase Assurance™?
SunBorn Purchase Assurance™ is an optional purchase protection program you can add at checkout for a small fee. Powered by Seel's Worry-Free Purchase® service, it extends coverage beyond SunBorn's standard policies.
What it covers:
- Lost packages (not delivered)
- Stolen on delivery (marked delivered but never received)
- Damaged in transit (significantly damaged)
- Significantly delayed packages
- Wrong fit returns — including final sale items

Is Purchase Assurance™ the same as a return policy?
No — they work together. Think of it as a three-layer system:
- Layer 01: Purchase Assurance™ (optional, customer-paid) — transit risks + wrong fit + final sale items
- Layer 02: 14-Day Standard Returns (included with every order) — unworn stock items, refund or store credit
- Layer 03: 30-Day Defect Warranty (included with every order) — manufacturing defects, photo evidence required
You always have access to Layers 02 and 03. Layer 01 expands what you're covered for if you opt in at checkout.
How much does Purchase Assurance™ cost?
The fee is calculated by Seel at checkout, typically a small percentage of your order value (usually around 1–3%). The exact amount displays at checkout before you confirm payment, so there are no surprises.
The fee is non-refundable except as provided in Seel's terms or if your order is cancelled prior to shipment.
Is Purchase Assurance™ optional or required?
Completely optional. You can opt in or skip it at checkout. SunBorn strongly recommends adding it for international orders or any order where you want the extra coverage.
If you skip Purchase Assurance™, you're still covered by the standard 14-Day Returns and 30-Day Defect Warranty — but lost-after-delivery, porch piracy, and significant transit damage won't be covered.
How do I file a Purchase Assurance™ claim?
All Purchase Assurance™ claims are filed directly through Seel's Resolution Center at resolve.seel.com.
After purchase, you'll receive a confirmation email from Seel containing your policy ID and direct claim filing instructions. Keep that email — you'll need the policy ID to file.
SunBorn doesn't process Purchase Assurance™ claims directly — Seel is the sole administrator. All claim decisions, approval, and refund amounts are made by Seel.
When can I file a claim? What are the windows?
Each claim type has its own window:
- Lost (Domestic): 30 days from ship date
- Lost (International): 60 days from ship date
- Stolen on delivery: Within 7 days of delivery
- Damaged in transit: Within 7 days of delivery
- Significantly delayed: After estimated delivery window passes
- Wrong fit returns: Within Seel's return window from delivery
Acting within these windows is what makes your claim eligible. Outside them, Seel's policy applies as written.
What's NOT covered by Purchase Assurance™?
Purchase Assurance™ does not cover:
- Manufacturer defects — these are covered separately under SunBorn's 30-Day Defect Warranty (see Section 04 of this FAQ)
- Cosmetic damage — scratches, minor wear, or natural variances in all-over print sublimation
- Customs delays or duties — international receivers are the importer of record
- Wear-and-tear from normal use over time
Are final-sale items covered by Purchase Assurance™?
Yes — and this is rare. Most brands exclude final sale items from any return protection. SunBorn Purchase Assurance™ includes final sale items in its coverage scope, which is one of the strongest reasons to add it at checkout, especially if you're buying a Custom Edition piece or any item that doesn't qualify for the standard 14-day return.
Returns & Exchanges
What's your return policy?
Three layers, summarized:
- 14-Day Standard Returns: Unworn stock items with tags, 14 days from delivery. Your choice of refund to original payment method or store credit. You pay return shipping.
- 30-Day Defect Warranty: Manufacturing defects, 30 days from delivery, photo evidence required. SunBorn covers return shipping.
- Purchase Assurance™ (if added at checkout): Extended coverage including final sale items, wrong fit, and transit issues.

How do I start a return?
It depends on what kind of return:
- 14-day standard return: Email info@sunbornfc.com with your order number and reason for return. SunBorn responds within 12–24 hours with return authorization and routing instructions.
- Manufacturing defect: Email info@sunbornfc.com with photos of the defect and your order number.
- Purchase Assurance™ claim: File directly at resolve.seel.com using the policy ID from your Seel confirmation email.
Important: Do not ship returns back without authorization. Unauthorized returns may be refused.
Can I exchange for a different size?
SunBorn doesn't offer direct size exchanges. Instead, there are two paths:
- Standard process: Return the original item within 14 days for a refund or store credit, then place a new order for the correct size.
- With Purchase Assurance™: File a wrong-fit claim through Seel's Resolution Center. Seel handles the resolution per their terms.
To avoid this, check the size guide on every product page before ordering. Each product has dimensions specific to that style — jerseys, AeroTanks, and hoodies all fit differently.
How long does a refund take to process?
Timeline once your return is authorized and shipped back:
- Inspection: 3–5 business days after SunBorn receives the return
- Approval notice: Email confirmation immediately after inspection
- Refund to original card: 5–10 business days to settle in your account (varies by bank)
- Store credit: Issued within 24 hours of approval, no bank delay
If more than 15 business days have passed since approval and your refund hasn't appeared, email info@sunbornfc.com with your order number.
What about Custom Edition pieces? Can I return those?
Custom Edition pieces — anything personalized with custom names, numbers, monograms, or bespoke design modifications — are Final Sale by design. They cannot be returned for:
- Buyer's remorse or change of mind
- Sizing errors made at checkout
- Typos in personalization fields you submitted
However: Manufacturing defects on Custom Edition pieces ARE covered by SunBorn's 30-Day Defect Warranty. And if SunBorn made the error (printed the wrong name despite your correct input), SunBorn will make it right.
If you added Purchase Assurance™ at checkout, your Custom Edition pieces also have broader return eligibility through Seel.
I received a damaged item. What do I do?
Damage on arrival (manufacturing defect): Email info@sunbornfc.com within 30 days of delivery with clear photos of the defect and your order number. SunBorn responds within 12–24 hours and resolves via replacement, store credit, or refund at SunBorn's discretion. SunBorn covers return shipping for confirmed defects.
Damage during transit (carrier-caused):
- If you added Purchase Assurance™: File a damage claim at resolve.seel.com within 7 days of delivery with photos.
- If you didn't add Purchase Assurance™: Transit damage isn't covered under standard policy. File a claim directly with the carrier using your tracking ID.
Sizing & Fit
How do I find my size?
Every product page has a size guide specific to that piece. The guide includes detailed measurements (chest, length, sleeve, etc.) so you can compare against a garment you already own that fits you well.
Look for the "DIMENSIONAL DATA & FIT" accordion on the product page — it includes the size chart and any product-specific fit notes.
Are SunBorn jerseys true to size?
SunBorn match-day jerseys are designed with an athletic fit — true to size, with room for movement. Most customers find their standard size works perfectly.
If you prefer a relaxed or oversized fit (popular for streetwear styling), size up.
Always check the specific product's size guide — different jersey lines may have slightly different cuts.
What's the difference between fit on jerseys vs AeroTanks vs hoodies?
- Match-day jerseys: Athletic fit, true to size, designed for play and styling.
- AeroTank™: Basketball-soccer hybrid silhouette — generally roomier than the jerseys, with a longer length and lower armholes. True to size for most builds, but consider sizing down if you prefer a closer fit.
- Hoodies: Heavyweight streetwear fit — slightly oversized by design. True to size for the streetwear look, size down for a tailored fit.
Each product page has detailed fit notes specific to that piece.
Are products unisex?
Yes — most SunBorn pieces are designed unisex, with sizing intended to fit a range of body types. Match-day jerseys, AeroTanks, and hoodies are all unisex unless otherwise noted on the product page.
The Sankofa line includes pieces designed specifically for women's silhouettes (sports bras, fitted leggings) — these are clearly labeled on the product page.
Between two sizes — should I size up or down?
It depends on the piece and the look you want:
- Jerseys: Size up for a streetwear look, stay true to size for athletic fit
- AeroTanks: Size down if you prefer a closer fit, stay true for the intended basketball-inspired silhouette
- Hoodies: Size down for tailored, stay true for the intended streetwear fit, size up for max-oversized
When in doubt, measure a garment you already own that fits how you want and compare to the size chart.
Products & Materials
What are SunBorn jerseys made of?
SunBorn match-day jerseys are constructed from a premium recycled polyester moisture-wicking fabric, engineered for athletic performance and durability. The all-over print designs are sublimated directly into the fabric — meaning the design is part of the material, not printed on top, so it won't crack, peel, or fade with proper care.
Specific fabric composition is listed in the "FABRIC TECH & COMPOSITION" accordion on each product page.
How do I care for my jersey?
To keep your kit in match-ready condition:
- Wash inside-out in cold water
- Use mild detergent — avoid bleach and fabric softeners
- Wash with similar colors
- Hang dry or tumble dry low
- Do not iron directly on the printed graphics
- Do not dry clean
Following these instructions preserves the sublimated print and extends the life of the garment. Each product page also has care instructions specific to that piece.
What's the Sankofa line?
The Sankofa line is SunBorn's activewear collection — named after the Akan principle "reach back to move forward." Designed as wearable engineering, the line features a royal purple and burnt-orange "Kinetic Engine" textile pattern rendered as gear and turbine motifs — grounded in documented African engineering history.
The Sankofa collection includes sports bras, leggings, joggers, hoodies, and track jackets. Each piece references historical African women builders and warriors as design inspiration. Close signature: Ancestral form. Future motion.

What's the difference between Eagle Protocol, Teranga, Atlas, etc.?
Each named "Protocol" represents a specific fabric line designed around a national or cultural theme:
- Eagle Protocol: Nigeria's heritage protocol
- Teranga: Senegal's heritage protocol (from the Wolof concept of hospitality)
- Atlas: Morocco's heritage protocol (from the Atlas Mountains)
- Elephant: Côte d'Ivoire's heritage protocol
- Sankofa: Pan-African activewear line (royal purple + burnt orange)
New protocols are introduced as SunBorn expands the catalog. Each is named to honor the cultural heritage of the nation or community it represents.
Where are your products made?
SunBorn operates a decentralized manufacturing model using specialized partners globally. Different product types are made at facilities chosen specifically for their expertise:
- All-over print jerseys and AeroTanks: Sublimation specialists
- Heavyweight hoodies and streetwear: Cut-and-sew partners with strong embroidery capabilities
- Accessories: Specialist accessory manufacturers
This allows SunBorn to maintain consistent high quality across very different product types. The trade-off: orders containing multiple product types may ship in separate packages from different facilities.
Will you restock a sold-out size or nation?
Because SunBorn manufactures on demand, "sold out" sizes are usually replenished within 24–48 hours. If a size shows as unavailable, check back the next day — it's likely back.
For limited-edition drops or discontinued nations, restocks aren't guaranteed. Join the Collective (the SunBorn email list) to get early access notifications for any restocks or new drops.
Custom Edition
How does Custom Edition personalization work?
Custom Edition pieces let you add a personal touch to select SunBorn products — typically a custom name and number on a jersey or AeroTank.
On Custom Edition product pages, you'll see text input fields for the personalization. Enter your name (or any text up to the character limit) and number, double-check your input, and proceed to checkout. Your personalization is reviewed for compliance (no profanity, trademarks, etc.) and then engineered into the piece during manufacturing.
What's the character limit for name + number?
Standard limits:
- Name: Maximum 12 characters (letters only, no special characters)
- Number: 1 or 2 digits (0–99)
Specific limits may vary by product — check the product page for the exact character allowance.
Why is Custom Edition Final Sale?
Because each Custom Edition piece is engineered specifically with your name and number, it cannot be resold to another customer. This is standard across all custom apparel — every brand from Nike to Adidas to your local team shop operates the same way.
To mitigate this, SunBorn clearly marks Custom Edition pieces as Final Sale on the product page and at checkout. Please double-check your spelling and number before completing the purchase. Once production starts, changes aren't possible.
Can I cancel or change a Custom Edition order?
Because Custom Edition production begins almost immediately after checkout, orders cannot be cancelled or modified once confirmed. This applies to:
- Personalization text (name, number)
- Size
- Shipping address

How long does Custom Edition take to ship?
Custom Edition production typically takes 3–7 business days — slightly longer than stock items due to the personalization step. Then standard transit times apply (5–9 business days North America, 6–15 days EU/UK, 9–20 days international).
Total estimated time from order to delivery for North America: 8–16 business days.

What is SunBorn?
SunBorn is a premium Afro-kinetic sports apparel brand — heritage hardware engineered, recoded, and architected for athletes, supporters, and diaspora. The source code is West African. The audience is global.
SunBorn was founded by Ĝôďî, a designer with roots in Ghana, working out of Philadelphia. The brand launched in time for World Cup '26 with a roster of nation kits, and continues to expand across sports, geographies, and silhouettes.
