SunBorn was built on a simple operational principle: the kit is engineered, the experience should be too.

Most apparel brands hand off the moment a package leaves the warehouse. Lost in transit becomes your problem. Stolen off the porch becomes your problem. Sizing didn't land becomes your problem. We don't operate that way.

Instead, we built a three-layer coverage architecture — one optional, two standard — that addresses every category of risk a customer can encounter between checkout and the next match. Read this page once. Bookmark it. Then go play.

Purchase Assurance™

What it is: An optional purchase protection program offered at checkout for a small fee. Powered by Seel's Worry-Free Purchase®, Purchase Assurance™ covers transit risks and wrong-fit returns — including final sale items, which most brands exclude.

What's Covered
  • Lost packages — not delivered within the carrier window
  • Stolen on delivery — package marked delivered but never received
  • Damaged in transit — significant damage rendering the item unusable
  • Significantly delayed — beyond the estimated delivery window
  • Wrong fit — sizing didn't work out, including for stock items past the standard window
  • Final sale items — uncommon protection; many brands exclude these
What's Not Covered
  • Manufacturer defects — covered separately under our Lifetime Maker's Guarantee (Section 03)
  • Cosmetic damage — scratches, minor wear, color variances inherent to all-over print sublimation
  • Customs delays or duties — receiver is the importer of record
  • Wear-and-tear after normal use

Fee: Calculated by Seel at checkout, typically a small percentage of order value. Non-refundable except as provided in Seel's terms or if your order is cancelled prior to shipment.

Claim Windows & Process

Each category of issue has its own reporting window. Acting within these windows is what makes your claim eligible. Past these windows, Seel's policy applies as written and SunBorn cannot intervene.

How to file a claim: All Purchase Assurance™ claims are filed directly through Seel's Resolution Center. You'll have received a confirmation email from Seel after checkout containing your policy ID and a direct link to file claims.

Required evidence: Most claims require photo evidence (for damage), tracking documentation (for loss), or proof of non-receipt (for stolen). The Seel Resolution Center will guide you through the specific requirements for your claim type.

Decision authority: Seel is the sole administrator of all Purchase Assurance™ claims, including approval, denial, and compensation amounts. SunBorn does not process claims directly. For questions about claim status, contact Seel support at support@seel.com.

Lifetime Maker's Guarantee

We made it. We stand behind it.

The Lifetime Maker's Guarantee is SunBorn's promise that the work we did to make your kit is built to last. If a SunBorn piece exhibits a manufacturing defect — stitching failure, fabric flaw, print failure, embroidery error — that was present at manufacture or develops due to materials or construction, we'll replace it, refund it, or repair it at our discretion.

This is a SunBorn-backed guarantee — not Seel coverage — and applies to every order regardless of whether Purchase Assurance™ was purchased. "Lifetime" means as long as you wear it — not a calendar year count.

What Qualifies as a Manufacturing Defect
  • Misprints, ink errors, or pattern misalignment beyond standard tolerance
  • Stitching defects — loose seams, unraveling, missing stitches
  • Fabric flaws — holes, tears, fabric inconsistency present from manufacture
  • Embroidery errors — broken threads, incorrect placement, missing elements
  • Print failure — fading, cracking, or peeling that occurs when care instructions were followed
  • Construction failures — defects in how the piece was assembled that develop with normal wear

AOP Variance Notice

SunBorn jerseys, Aero-Tanks, and other all-over print pieces are manufactured via digital sublimation. Slight variations in pattern placement near seams, minor color shifts between batches, and subtle differences from the digital mockup are inherent to the cut-and-sew process. These are not defects and are not covered under this guarantee.

What's not covered:

  • Wear-and-tear from normal use after delivery — fading from age, fabric thinning, stretching, pilling, or other natural aging
  • Damage from misuse, accidents, improper laundering, or care instructions not followed
  • AOP pattern variances at seams (standard manufacturing tolerance)
  • Alterations or modifications made after delivery
  • Theft, loss, or damage that should be covered under Purchase Assurance™ (Section 01) or homeowner's insurance

Note on intent: The Lifetime Maker's Guarantee is a commitment to stand behind how the piece was made. It is not a promise to replace garments that have been worn out from years of normal use. If you're unsure whether your issue qualifies, email us and we'll review.

14-Day Standard Returns

For customers who did not purchase Purchase Assurance™ at checkout, SunBorn offers a standard 14-day return window for change-of-mind and fit issues on stock items.

Not eligible for standard returns:

Want broader return coverage?

Customers who add Purchase Assurance™ at checkout get extended return eligibility — including final sale items, wrong-fit returns beyond 14 days, and transit issues. The small fee at checkout pays for itself the first time something goes sideways.

EU customer rights: If your order ships to the European Union, you have the right under EU consumer law to cancel or return your order within 14 days for any reason, regardless of whether Purchase Assurance™ was purchased. Item must be unworn, tagged, and in original packaging. Proof of purchase required.

Response time: SunBorn responds to all inquiries within 12–24 hours during business days. For claims filed directly with Seel, refer to Seel's response timelines in their confirmation email.

Important: Do not ship returns back without authorization. Unauthorized returns may be refused. Once authorized, we'll send you specific routing instructions.

Third-party services notice: Purchase Assurance™ is provided through a partnership with Seel, Inc. By opting into Purchase Assurance™ at checkout, you agree to Seel's Worry-Free Purchase® Terms of Service. Seel is the sole underwriter, administrator, and claims decision-maker for all Purchase Assurance™ coverage. SunBorn Collective does not underwrite, guarantee, or administer Purchase Assurance™ claims. In the event of a conflict between Seel's terms and this page regarding Purchase Assurance™ coverage, Seel's terms govern.

Modification: SunBorn Collective may modify, discontinue, or replace Purchase Assurance™ at any time without prior notice. Existing coverage remains in effect under the terms applicable at the time of purchase. The Lifetime Maker's Guarantee is a non-transferable benefit applying to the original purchaser and remains in effect for the life of the garment as defined herein.
