[ HELIX//LOOM // VOLUME I // SANKOFA ]
The Helix//Loom™ is SunBorn's translation apparatus — the protocol that converts inherited cultural code into wearable form. Sankofa is its first volume.
Sankofa means go back and fetch it. Not nostalgia — retrieval. The instruction is to reach into what came before, take what still works, and carry it forward into what you're building now.
The Kinetic Engine is what that instruction looks like rendered as cloth. The loom was the first computer: five hundred years before the language of engineering existed, weavers across West Africa were encoding family, region and meaning into thread — pattern as protocol, garment as transmission. The Kinetic Engine takes that same logic and draws it as gear-motif circuitry — Ugo Purple ground, forge copper geometry, signal cyan running the live lines. Purple because it was the hardest color in the ancient world to make, and the most restricted to wear — the pigment of rulers by law, not by taste. We put it on training wear.
Bra and shorts move as one system here, not two separate purchases hoping to match. This pairs our Padded Sports Bra straight to the Bike Shorts — same base, same circuitry, same run from sternum to hem. One less decision before the work starts.

[ ARCHITECTURE ]
-
The Pattern: Continuous gear-and-circuit geometry, carried from the bra band straight into the shorts' side panel and waistband — one unified line, not two prints trying to match
-
The Colorway: Ugo Purple, Adaeze Pink, or Sango Orange — one shared color across both pieces, no mixing and matching required
-
The Base: AsaseFlex™ four-way stretch microfiber on both pieces, squat-proof compression, forge copper and gold accent detailing
-
The Crest: SunBorn Sankofa mark, discreet placement on bra and shorts — builder lineage
-
The Detail: Removable padded nodes in the bra, gusseted flat-seam construction and high waistband on the shorts, moisture-wicking throughout
-
The Fit: Second-skin compression on both pieces, true to size — mix and match bra/shorts sizing independently

Ancestral code as hardware. Diaspora as design.
